RBC Online

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we won't be meeting for services in person, but we will be posting some resources here every week to keep our fellowship alive remotely.

A word from Peter

Welcome RBC family and friends! Don't you feel the lockdown weeks are starting to blur into each other? Nevertheless life goes on with its ups and downs; a great Christian Aid quiz night last week was clearly an 'up'. Helping others is one of the ways we live life in Jesus' footsteps, rooted in our identity as children of our heavenly Father, blessing the world in his name.

After the service

You are invited to join us at 11am for chat and prayer via Zoom! Here's a link to join.  Please do get in touch with Peter (assocminister@rugbybaptist.org.uk) or Emma (secretary@rugbybaptist.org.uk) if you need the password.

Thy Kingdom Come prayer

Thy Kingdom Come

As part of the Thy Kingdom Come wave of prayer, we'll pray a brief (20 minute) morning prayer daily at 9am from Thursday 21st until Pentecost. Join when you can; we meet on Zoom here. Message us for the password.

Boys Brigade

The boys have the opportunity to do activities at home to continue their work towards their badges. All these activities are on the Boys Brigade website. Mick as Chaplain does a devotion each week that we put onto our Facebook page and the church website. We continue to stay in contact with the parents as much as we can. Friday 15th May would have been our display evening where the boys receive their badges. Please continue to pray for the brigades during this difficult time as we continue to work out ways that we can encourage the boys. BB will not be meeting until September at the earliest following guidelines from Headquarters.

Volunteer for RBC Online

Many thanks to those who swiftly responded to the request for volunteers to read, pray, put together an All Age Slot, or contribute in some other way to the online scattered services. Please keep those offers and ideas coming! We love to hear from you, and there are plenty of opportunities to have a go. If you’ve never done it before, even better! What a wonderful chance to try something new. Help is available! Please contact Emma or Peter.

Christian Aid

Many thanks to all those who have already been donating or joined us for the quiz on Friday. Please do keep donating via our Just Giving Page: justgiving.com/team/rugbybaptistchurch!

Pastoral care

We have set up a telephone network, we are using email, Facebook and our website, and we’re trying out Zoom for some of our meetings.
Some people are using WhatsApp, or texting and messaging, and the Royal Mail has been delivering letters and cards for some of us.

If you would like a church directory so you can phone a friend, please let Emma know (secretary@rugbybaptist.org.uk). If you’re aware of anyone in need of a bit of extra pastoral care, then please let Bobbie or Peter know, or a member of the pastoral care team or one of the deacons.

Prayers can also be requested via the prayer chain: please contact Bobbie.

RBC mutual aid

Many of us may well need help over the coming weeks with shopping – and help is available from your church family. Don’t hesitate to call Bridget, and she will find someone who has offered to lend a helping hand.

Prayer meeting

RBC Zoom Prayer meeting will take place every Wednesday at 7pm. If you'd like to join in, please contact Peter (assocminister@rugbybaptist.org.uk).

Do you usually give to the work of the church via the offertory plate on a Sunday? If so, you might like to consider giving by standing order, direct debit or bank transfer instead. We depend on donations and income from room lettings, both of which will be negatively affected by the current situation. Account details: Lloyds Bank, Rugby, 30-97-17 Account No 00344633.

Gallery of Easter crosses

In the last few years, we’ve celebrated our joy at the resurrection by bringing flowers to church on Easter Day and decorating a cross. This year, some of us decorated crosses at home, and you can see everyone's crosses in our gallery of Easter crosses.
